Οι Έλληνες post-black metallers Euphrosyne κυκλοφόρησαν πρόσφατα το “Eulogy”, το τελευταίο single από το πολυαναμενόμενο ντεμπούτο άλμπουμ τους “Morus”.
Το “Morus” που θα κυκλοφορήσει στις 21 Μαρτίου 2025, μέσω της Black Lion Records, είναι ένα εκτεταμένο και συναισθηματικά φορτισμένο ταξίδι μέσα από τη μελαγχολία, την επιθετικότητα και την ατμοσφαιρική ομορφιά.

Οι Euphrosyne σχηματίστηκαν το 2021, όταν η Έφη Εύα (φωνή) και ο Άλεξ Δεσποτίδης (κιθάρα) ενώθηκαν κάτω από ένα κοινό όραμα δημιουργίας σκοτεινής και περιπετειωδώς μελωδικής μουσικής που ωθεί τα όρια του post-black metal.
Την πρώτη τους χρονιά, το συγκρότημα κυκλοφόρησε τα singles “Thorns Above The Skies” και “Rattus”, τα οποία εισήγαγαν το μοναδικό μείγμα black και melodic metal με ορχηστρικές ενορχηστρώσεις, μαζί με φωνητικά που αλλάζουν από ισχυρά γρυλίσματα σε μελωδικές και δυνατές γραμμές, όλα γεμάτα θέματα κατάθλιψης και απομόνωσης.
Αφού έλαβαν κριτική αναγνώριση για τα αρχικά τους singles, οι Euphrosyne εδραίωσαν τη σύνθεσή τους το 2022 με τον Γιώργο Γαζή (μπάσο) και τον Στέλιο Πεπινίδη (τύμπανα), και ηχογράφησαν το ντεμπούτο τους EP “Keres”.
Το EP σηματοδότησε την πρώτη καλλιτεχνική δήλωση του συγκροτήματος, παρουσιάζοντας συνθέσεις που κυμαίνονται από την άγρια αφήγηση συγκροτημάτων όπως οι Deafheaven και οι Ghostbath μέχρι τον καταστροφικό ήχο των Behemoth, Gojira και Gorgoroth.
Με μια σειρά ζωντανών εμφανίσεων δίπλα σε καλλιτέχνες όπως οι Rotting Christ, Sylvaine, Ultha, και Σάκης Τόλης, οι Euphrosyne τοποθετούνται ως εστιασμένη και εμπνευσμένη δύναμη στην ευρωπαϊκή post-black metal σκηνή, προσφέροντας μια ισχυρή οπτική ταυτότητα και έναν ήχο που συνεχίζει να αμφισβητεί τα όρια του είδους.

Greek Post-Black Metal Visionaries Euphrosyne Unveil New Single “Eulogy”

Euphrosyne formed in 2021, when Efi Eva (vocals) and Alex Despotidis (guitar) united under a shared vision of creating dark and adventurously melodic music that pushes the boundaries of post-black metal.
In their first year, the band released the singles “Thorns Above The Skies” and “Rattus,” which introduced their unique blend of black and melodic metal with orchestral arrangements, along with vocals that shift from powerful growls to melodic and powerful lines, all steeped in themes of depression and isolation.
After receiving critical acclaim for their initial singles, Euphrosyne solidified their lineup in 2022 with George Gazis (bass) and Stelios Pepinidis (drums), and recorded their debut EP Keres.
The EP marked the band’s first artistic statement, showcasing compositions that range from the fierce narrative of bands like Deafheaven and Ghostbath to the devastating sound of Behemoth, Gojira, and Gorgoroth.
