Οι doomsters KATLA ταξιδεύουν στα βάθη του πόνου και της ανθεκτικότητας με το νέο τους κομμάτι “Dead Lover”.
Το τραγούδι είναι το δεύτερο single που κάνει πρεμιέρα, από το ντεμπούτο άλμπουμ του δανέζικου metal τέρατος, “Scandinavian Pain”, που κυκλοφορεί στις 21 Μαρτίου 2025 μέσω της Napalm Records.
Μετά από χρόνια τελειοποίησης του κολοσσιαίου ήχου και της ζωντανής ενέργειάς τους, η μπάντα προσφέρει ένα αδυσώπητο μείγμα ακατέργαστου συναισθήματος, σκληρών riffs και υπόγειας ηχητικής μπαταρίας.
Το “Scandinavian Pain” όχι μόνο σηματοδοτεί ένα νέο κεφάλαιο για το συγκρότημα, αλλά αντικατοπτρίζει επίσης την άνοδό τους στην αναγνώριση, από το ταπεινό ξεκίνημα στο Copenhell Festival, μέχρι να γίνει ένα ξεχωριστό σχήμα στο heavy music underground της Δανίας.

Οι KATLA για το “Dead Lover”:
“Αυτό το τραγούδι ήταν το πρώτο τραγούδι που μπήκε πραγματικά στο άλμπουμ, καθώς το πρώτο μας single “Taurus” ήταν ένα είδος αυτόνομου single μέχρι τότε.
Το “Dead Lover” δημιουργήθηκε βασικά σε μια μέρα, καθώς ταίριαζε απόλυτα σε αυτή τη μη-μαλακία προσέγγιση που θέλαμε να κάνουμε με το άλμπουμ.
Οι στίχοι σχεδόν έγιναν καθώς το τραγούδι δημιουργούνταν στην αίθουσα πρόβας και λίγο πολύ χτύπησε αμέσως το σημείο.
Σε προσωπικό επίπεδο, οι στίχοι του “Dead Lover” γράφτηκαν οι ίδιοι εκείνη την εποχή, καθώς ο Rasmus αντιμετώπιζε επίσης κάποιες πολύ καταθλιπτικές και σκοτεινές σκέψεις εκείνη την εποχή.
Προορίζεται περισσότερο ως ένα «αναζωογονητικό» τραγούδι, καθώς διερευνά επίσης τα θέματα του να ξεπεράσεις τα δύσκολα μπαλώματα και να βγεις από την άλλη πλευρά».

Το “Scandinavian Pain” είναι μια καθαρτική εξερεύνηση των προσωπικών αγώνων, της ψυχικής υγείας και της κοινωνικής κριτικής.

KATLA on “Dead Lover”:
“This song was the first song to actually go on the album, as our first single ‘Taurus’ was kind of a standalone single by then. ‘Dead Lover’ was basically made in one day, as it was the perfect fit to that no-bullshit approach we wanted to make with the album.
The lyrics were almost made as the song was being created in the rehearsal room, and pretty much hit the spot straight away. On a personal level, the ‘Dead Lover’ lyrics wrote themselves at the time, since Rasmus was also dealing with some very depressive and dark thoughts at the time.
It is meant as more of an ‘uplifting’ song, as it also explores the subjects of getting through rough patches and coming out on the other side.”
