Η Circle Music υπέγραψε με το επιδραστικό σουηδικό μελωδικό death metal συγκρότημα Gates of Ishtar.
Σεβαστοί ως ένα από τα πιο υποτιμημένα συγκροτήματα του είδους, οι Gates of Ishtar είναι έτοιμοι να επιστρέψουν θριαμβευτικά με το πρώτο τους νέο άλμπουμ μετά από σχεδόν τρεις δεκαετίες.
Σχηματισμένοι στη Luleå της Σουηδίας, οι Gates of Ishtar εμφανίστηκαν στη σκηνή με το ντεμπούτο άλμπουμ τους του 1996, “A Bloodred Path”, το οποίο γρήγορα εδραίωσε τη θέση τους στο πάνθεον του μελωδικού death metal.
Ακολούθησαν δύο ακόμα άλμπουμ που έλαβαν διθυραμβικές κριτικές, το “The Dawn of Flames” (1997) και το “At Dusk and Forever” (1998), παρουσιάζοντας το χαρακτηριστικό τους μείγμα από αιχμηρά riffs, βροντερά τύμπανα και τα αδιαμφισβήτητα γρυλίσματα του τραγουδιστή Mikael Sandorf.
Παρά την πρώιμη επιτυχία τους και την πολλά υποσχόμενη πορεία τους, το συγκρότημα πήγε σε παύση, αφήνοντας ένα κενό στη metal σκηνή που ένιωθαν έντονα οι αφοσιωμένοι θαυμαστές τους.
Μετά από 17 χρόνια σιωπής, η προσμονή για μια επανένωση μεγάλωσε και ενώ μια προγραμματισμένη επιστροφή το 2015 δυστυχώς εκτροχιάστηκε από τον θάνατο του ντράμερ Oscar Karlsson, οι Gates of Ishtar τελικά αναστήθηκαν τον Νοέμβριο του 2023 με μια δυναμική εμφάνιση στο House of Metal.
Η συντριπτική ανταπόκριση των θαυμαστών σε αυτό το σόου άναψε τη σπίθα για νέα μουσική, οδηγώντας στην απόφαση να ηχογραφηθεί ένα νέο άλμπουμ.
Η Circle Music είναι εκστασιασμένη που καλωσορίζει τους Gates of Ishtar στο ρόστερ της.

Προσθέτοντας στη σημασία της επιστροφής τους, οι Gates of Ishtar πραγματοποίησαν πρόσφατα μια καταστροφική ζωντανή παράσταση στη γενέτειρά τους, Luleå.
Αυτή η εμφάνιση συνέπεσε με την 30ή επέτειο από την πρώτη τους συναυλία στην ίδια τοποθεσία, σηματοδοτώντας μια ισχυρή στιγμή πλήρους κύκλου για το συγκρότημα.

Swedish melodic death metal legends Gates of Ishtar sign with The Circle Music!
The Circle Music has signed the influential Swedish melodic death metal band, Gates of Ishtar.
Revered as one of the genre’s most underrated acts, Gates of Ishtar are poised to triumphantly return with their first new album in nearly three decades.
Formed in Luleå, Sweden, Gates of Ishtar burst onto the scene with their seminal 1996 debut album, “A Bloodred Path”, which quickly cemented their place in the pantheon of melodic death metal.
Two more critically acclaimed albums followed, “The Dawn of Flames” (1997) and “At Dusk and Forever” (1998), showcasing their signature blend of razor-sharp riffs, thunderous drums, and the unmistakable growls of vocalist Mikael Sandorf. Despite their early success and promising trajectory, the band went on hiatus, leaving a void in the metal scene that their dedicated fanbase keenly felt.
After a 17-year silence, the anticipation for a reunion grew, and while a planned comeback in 2015 was sadly derailed by the passing of drummer Oscar Karlsson, Gates of Ishtar finally resurrected in November 2023 with a powerful performance at House of Metal.
The overwhelming response from fans at this show ignited the spark for new music, leading to the decision to record a new album.
The Circle Music is ecstatic to welcome Gates of Ishtar to their roster.
