Anathema here have matured, as musicians but also as people, presenting their most complete musical ideas.
Vincent Cavanagh has stated, that the cover of “Alternative 4” is an attempt to create an image of the Virgin Mary, that instead of a face there is the reflection in the spacesuit of an astronaut, wanting to show the relationship between Christ and aliens.
