CATTLE DECAPITATION – “Terrasite” album review

That the planet is declining towards its end we may be able to imagine. We know that man is responsible for all this.
The fact that in a little while no living being, as we know it, is going to survive does not yet touch us, but surely somewhere there is a truth which is painful, let alone for our descendants.
That’s where Cattle Decapitation comes in to get us in the mood for what it’s going to be about.
From the cover, with the anthropomorphic monster to the last track of “Terrasite”, the new 10th album of the American progressive death metallers, Cattle Decapitation explain to us where we come from and how we will end up.
There is of course no better way to enter and imagine all this, than the music and vocals that can be heard throughout the album.
The production suitable to raise tones of metal brutality either in the drums and guitars or in the double, many times, vocals, brutal main and the most shrill secondary ones.
It goes without saying that grindcore is also in the band’s DNA. Particularly are the “atmospheric” parts of some tracks, if we can call it that way, as I was also impressed by some atmospheric introductions.
For fans, and not only, of the genre, it is an album quite easy to listen to, which wins from the first moment.
It wins with the subject matter, the lyrics, the guitars that play exactly what is needed without exaggerating.
The 10th and last track “Terrasite”, is a ten-minute epic that is the best to close an album, where Cattle Decapitation, with the experience now in years, can write comfortably and may be among the best of the band.
