CROSSFAITH dismiss guitarist Daiki following confirmed misconduct involving minor

CROSSFAITH have officially announced the dismissal of guitarist Daiki Koide following confirmed reports of inappropriate communication with an underage fan. The decision, made public today, June 28th, via the band’s social media accounts, comes in the wake of mounting criticism and scrutiny surrounding the incident.

In their statement, the Osaka-based Metalcore band said:

“It was recently confirmed that our guitarist, Daiki, engaged in inappropriate communication with an underage fan. Recognizing the gravity of this misconduct, we have decided to dismiss him from the band effective immediately.”

The group apologised to the victim, fans, and all involved parties, acknowledging the severity of the situation.

The dismissal follows multiple days of speculation, initially brought to widespread attention by Ronnie Radke, frontman of Falling In Reverse. On June 25th, Radke shared a video on Instagram (originally posted to TikTok but since removed) alleging that Daiki, 37, had attempted to meet with a 14-year-old girl during CROSSFAITH’s European tour, which included several support slots in Germany on Falling In Reverse’s arena/hall tour. He shared screenshots of the messages and criticised both CROSSFAITH and several festival organisers, including Graspop Metal Meeting, for allowing the band to continue performing despite being made aware of the misconduct. Radke claimed that the band initially refused to remove Daiki, prompting him to go public with the accusations.

Prior to Daiki’s removal from the band, CROSSFAITH cancelled the remaining dates of their European tour in response to mounting backlash and escalating online discussion. Before the announcement, they had already completed nine shows, including headlining dates in Southampton and Lucerne, and festival appearances at Download, Rock For People, and Graspop Metal Meeting. The cancelled dates included Vainstream Rockfest, Jera On Air, Resurrection Fest, and EVIL LIVE.

Beyond CROSSFAITH, the incident has also affected Daiki’s involvement with KNOSIS, the project fronted by ex-CRYSTAL LAKE frontman Ryo Kinoshita. KNOSIS announced Daiki would no longer perform with them as a support guitarist, a decision shared via their social media on the same day as CROSSFAITH’s announcement.

CROSSFAITH brought on Daiki in 2024, following the departure of the band’s longtime bassist Hiroki Ikegawa. His brief tenure included the recording of ‘AЯK’, CROSSFAITH’s first album in six years, and appearances at major events including the band’s own HYPER PLANET 2025 in February.

Daiki had also been expected to reunite with HER NAME IN BLOOD for their first performance since 2021, scheduled to take place at FACT’s final ROCK-O-RAMA event in October. While an official update regarding his status at the show has not been issued, his removal from both CROSSFAITH and KNOSIS casts significant doubt over his participation.

At present, CROSSFAITH have yet to outline how they will restructure following Daiki’s departure. The band noted that further updates would be shared in due course.
