Destruction one of the long time leaders of German thrash had released their 14th album back to 2016, titled Under Attack, a very outgoing and energetic style thrash record full of grooves and unique change in tempo sums it up as these veterans had came up with another great recording, which came out from my vinyle stack and needed to listen it again.
Under attack rips along with great intensity yet adding some dark tones during melodic intro onthe album opener, the title track. As well as “Getting used to the evil” one of the better songs onthe disc.
Any of the long time die hard fans of destruction whose dedication goes back as far as 1986Eternal Devastation will be able to tell that destruction has lost a small step over the years but that does not affect this album one bit. Songs are still pure destruction thrash that have always been the bands signature sound, unmistakable from start to finish.
The band also pays tribute to venom with a cover of black metal followed by an intstrumental called “Thrash Attack” which could just be the bands way of showing fans they are one of the kings of german thrash metal (Kreator & Sodom not to be forgotten of course) but when your this good you can pretty much do whatever you want and that bonus track will start mosh pits worldwide, Under Attack is a great addition to any metal fans collection.
