DEVISER- Evil Summons Evil New Release

I would start by saying that a band that is so long away from the discography has effects, in terms of rallying their audience, ranking in the scene, but also for the band itself. Unfortunately few bands avoid these situations and Deviser is not one of them.

However, Deviser has something that few bands have, fanatical fans. One of the biggest black metal bands with members who after 35 years still have the spark and the will to create. And if the latter is the driving force for many artists, here the difference is that they both know how, but also have the quality to reach the destination that every great band seeks. They reached their zenith with their first album. Then the spark of the Deviser was ignited and for those who believed in its power and let it enter their souls the Unspeakable Cults will live forever. After the very good “Transmission to Chaos” there was a not so good period with the weaker ones, “Running Sore” and “Seasons of Darkness”. The very good “Howling Flames” EP left us wondering when the gates of hell will finally open. It was after 6 years and after 12 years since the last album. The joy and smile that burst out, was hidden lust. The first thing listening to “Evil Summons Evil” was really transporting us back to 1996 when they were setting the black metal scene on fire. Times have certainly changed, but “Evil Summons Evil” will stand tall. The compositions, the production, the guitars, Matt Chnaras who spits in our faces the lyrics, the artwork and a big record company that believed in success, compose a mix that does not fail. The vocal participants, Androniki Skoula, Heljarmadr, Efthimis Karadimas, (tracks: 5,7,10), give that extra something to an excellent album. The wait was long, but it brought us Deviser strong and promising to keep the black metal banner high as in the 90’s.
