FLOATING WORLDS new album “Skywatcher” will be released June 21, 2024…+ single “Hello From Out There” official video

Floating Worlds’ new concept album is titled “Skywatcher” and is scheduled for release on June 21, 2024.
The story of “Skywatcher” is thematically linked to the story of our previous album “Battleship Oceania”, as the main character of the album, young Winston Smith, is the son of Lieutenant David Smith.

In “Skywatcher”, the acclaimed journalist Paul Rogers, tells us a very strange and mysterious story that he had covered in the past, about the disappearance of Winston Smith, a nine-year-old boy, who hoped that by observing the stars through a telescope, he would one day be able to find in one of them, the father he had lost.

The father of little Winston was Navy Lieutenant David Smith, who served on the legendary battleship “Oceanis”, the story of which was dealt with in our previous album entitled “Battleship Oceania”.
Those who have listened to our album “Battleship Oceania” and have in mind the history and plot of the album, know what really happened to that ship and its crew during its last and as it turned out fateful mission.

But for everyone else who doesn’t know what really happened in Battleship Oceania, including Winston and his mother Jane, father and husband David Smith fell in the line of duty on a mysterious mission that changed their lives forever, as he was officially considered “dead” by the Navy. Some time after his disappearance along with the ship and all the rest of the crew, although neither his body nor the wreck of the battleship “Oceanis” was ever found.

Perhaps this lack of hard evidence that Winston’s father was indeed dead made Winston believe deep down that his father was still alive somewhere out there.

Perhaps this was the reason that made him search so stubbornly and persistently every night among the stars of the sky, to see at least a sign that his father was still alive somewhere up there and that the time was not far when little Winston would be in his arms again. Like then…

Like when his father had given him a telescope as a gift and taught him which star Winston could look at, so that they could meet in it mentally when he was away on a trip.

Every night, Winston, accompanied by his two inseparable “companions”, the telescope his father had given him and a small portable radio, searched among the countless stars of the sky for wonder, until a sequence of very strange events, as he had recorded them in detail in his diary, resulted in things taking a completely unexpected turn. which eventually led to the mysterious disappearance of little Winston under unclear circumstances, on the night of September 12.

Despite the agonizing and thorough investigations, both by the authorities and by the journalist Paul Rogers himself who tells us the story, little Winston Smith was never found.

The unsolved mystery of this child’s disappearance forever stigmatized journalist Paul Rogers and haunted his mind and soul into his old age. His dedication with such zeal and passion to solving this case eventually led him, although he had never met the little boy in person, to a deep and inexplicable emotional bond with Winston.
As if it were him, the son he wanted so much, but could never have.

Although many years have passed since then, and Paul Rogers has retired from the profession of journalist at an old age, he often takes little Winston’s diary with him on his daily walks in the park and reads the little boy’s notes.
After all, he has stopped reading them for years in order to be able to find among them, the solution of the mystery of Winston’s disappearance.
He reads them now, just to keep him an imaginary company.

The truth is that Winston no longer misses him, as he used to, as he has long been convinced that the little one is watching him daily with his telescope, from some distant star, somewhere up there.
Perhaps he finally managed to meet his father at the edge of the vast universe that surrounds us.
