Two of the most acclaimed musicians of the instrumental rock & experimental metal scene of the Greek scene, present a new collaboration on stage, this time at the historic An Club.
After the success of their first joint appearance in the pre-Covid era, Irene Ketikidi and Chrysa Tsaltampasi, together with their regular collaborators and companions in their personal projects, join forces again on Friday, May 2 in a double bill live that will shake the beloved basement of Exarchia to its foundations.
Irene Ketikidi is a guitarist and composer, with international recognition in the field of instrumental rock.
She has two releases to her credit, with her first album “Martial Arts & Magic Tricks” (2013, self release) being praised by renowned musicians such as Guthrie Govan, Greg Howe, Alex Skolnick, David Kilminster and Nita Strauss.
Her second album, titled “A Sky For All” (2018, self release), is a clearly progressive work, which does not lack blues, metal and fusion idioms.
Counting most appearances in Greece and abroad, she stands out her participation as lead guitarist in the performance “Camerata Musicians Meet Deep Purple” at the Athens Concert Hall, her appearance as an opening act with soloist Nick Johnston, her guest appearance at Nita Strauss’ concert at the Chance Theater [NY], her participation in the Gimme Shelter Film Festival tribute to Frank Zappa and her opening act at the concert of the legendary Geoff Tate in Athens.
In October 2023, she released the single “MAGGOTS” from her upcoming third album.
A few months later he participated in the Guitar Experience, the largest guitar event in the country that they organized together with Phoebus Zacharopoulos, Kostas Foitos and Fotis Delinikolas.
This performance was filmed and recorded live and went viral on YouTube with over 1,000,000 views to date.
Irene is an endorser of Rotosound strings, Klotz cables, Tsakalis Audioworks effects and Gruv Gear accessories, and produces video content for Gibson’s official guitar learning app.
Spineless is the personal project of Chrysa Tsaltampasi, based in Athens and while his first samples were in a more drone / ambient / down tempo style, now he has moved on to experimental / post metal paths.
The compositions of the first album “Speaking of Chaos and Relative Peace” (2018, self release), are an amalgam of deafening outbursts, heavy riffs, piano parts, brutal vocals and polyphonies.
The second album, “Dysphonia” (2024, Submersion Records), from the first days of its release, had already received and continues to receive rave reviews both for its compositions and for the special way it has to be an artistic work that is both internal and collective, since it manages to touch each listener individually.
The same happened with the band’s captivating performance at the live presentation of the album in Athens and Thessaloniki, in two “celebration” appearances for the creation and return of the project to the forefront.
Chrysa Tsaltampasi is a singer, songwriter and vocal coach with specialization and continuous research on extreme metal vocals.
He has collaborated with bands and artists of various musical genres and vocal requirements, both as a permanent member (National Pornografik, Bella Fuzz, Biotech, Travel Mind Syndrome, Anal Veritas, Low Texture etc.) and as a session / special guest (Alkaloid, Calyces, Beyond Perception, Afformance, Scar of the Sun, Mother Turtle etc.).
Her work extends beyond borders, since 2022 she has been a member of the voice acting team in “The Monster Factory” among other internationally acclaimed vocalists.
Correspondingly, he has participated together with Sofia Sarris in the soundtrack of the Netflix series “1899” in collaboration with Ben Frost, as well as in the soundtracks of the series “Beauty and the beast”, “The secret circle”, “Star crossed”, “Delirium” etc. with the Dutch DJ Tim Besamusca.
In November 2024, and in collaboration with Sofia Sarri, it was the opening act at Chelsea Wolfe’s most recent appearance in Athens at Gagarin205.
