Conceptually, to me, this song is about realizing that there are certain people in your life that are takers—and the hurt that comes with the realization that you’re better off without them in your life.
Nothing is ever good enough, everything is always your fault.
You’re in this constant state of changing yourself to meet standards that they’re constantly changing. You can’t win, and when you reach your wits end, you then are blamed for your reaction and forever held in front of that mirror.
