Testament “Brotherhood Of The Snake” album review

Here is another great album from bay area thrashers Testament. What can be said about this band that hasn’t been said already?
They are probably the most consistent non big four band to come out of the 80’s along with Exodus and Overkill. “Brotherhood Of The Snake”  is another great release from this long time thrash band. For whatever reason this album takes some time to grow on you with, each listen.

I believe that with all of our expectations and anticipation for the next release being as high as they are, we might have slightly lowered expectations upon first listen. But, like i said above, BOTS really hits home once you give it a chance.

As expected the title track which leads off is a blistering attack by Peterson and Skolnick on guitars. Skolnick’s creativity which most people say was truly on display the previous album Dark Roots Of Earth is also just as impressive here too. Two tracks that are amazing here are “The Pale King” and “Seven Seals” even though they stand out, to me its easy to see the first six tracks help make this album great, yet the bottom four songs are a different take on things for the final stages of BOTS which was put together as a unique concept album by chuck billy and the guys which they got from a TV series called “Ancient Aliens” a story about a secret society called Brotherhood of the snake over six thousand years ago. This is definitely a change from any of the bands previous few albums lyric/concept overall. None shall defy what Tesament has done over the years for heavy metal.

This record reveals the band shows no signs of slowing down anytime soon.
