On April 4, 2025, Wrath of Logarius will release one of the most anticipated black metal albums of the year, “Crown of Mortis.” After an atmospheric introduction, the band kicks into action with fast tempos and impressive, multi-layered riffs. The entire album is infused with an incredibly dark atmosphere, with numerous death metal influences. The guitars deliver icy riffs, combined with explosive blast beats and eerie vocals.
The compositions are meticulously crafted in terms of structure and the combination of these elements, showcasing the black metal aesthetic of a band that, with the exceptional guitarists Urath and Vastador in its lineup, will surely surprise us in the best way. Lord Marco on drums is truly otherworldly, maintaining the rhythm section at very high levels. The nine tracks of “Crown of Mortis” have an excellent connection between them, making the album easy to listen to.
The lyrics delve into dark philosophical paths, with references to death and the metaphysical. Standout moments from “Crown of Mortis” include “Long Dead the King,” “The Ethereal Mist,” and “Keeper of the Spectral Legion.”
Overall, “Crown of Mortis” is an album that will be adored by those who love pure, classic black metal, preferring a raw, dark atmosphere.
