A PLAGUE OF LIGHTHOUSE KEEPERS announce debut EP “Towers of Silence”

Dutch Experimental Metal collective A PLAGUE OF LIGHTHOUSE KEEPERS will release their debut EP “Towers of Silence” on May 09, 2026 via Lay Bare Recordings and have already revealed the first single, “The Massacre of Flour.”

Blending Sludge, Doom, Post-Metal, Free Jazz, Raga, and Drone, the band create a sound that is both confrontational and meditative, long-form compositions that move between hypnotic repetition, improvisation, and overwhelming bursts of intensity.

Lead single “The Massacre of Flour” serves as a ferocious introduction to the band’s sonic world and thematic direction, addressing political violence and global injustice through a sprawling, intense composition that shifts between chaos, noise, and crushing Doom-laden heaviness.

On “Towers of Silence,” A PLAGUE OF LIGHTHOUSE KEEPERS  approach drone metal from a different angle, starting from a doom and sludge foundation and expanding outward into Free Jazz, Spiritual Music, Noise, and Classical Minimalism, creating music that feels as much ritual as it does Metal.

Across the EP, the band explore themes of despair, anger, religion, politics, identity, and hope, searching for meaning in a world shaped by conflict, anxiety, and uncertainty.

Towers of Silence” marks the first statement from a band already building a reputation for intense and unpredictable live performances, and signals the arrival of a new and uncompromising voice in the European Experimental Heavy underground.
