Cult Of Luna announce their tenth studio album and released the first single

Cult of Luna are back with a brand-new album and, judging by everything we’ve heard so far, they’re ready to drag us deep into their darkness once again. The band’s tenth studio effort, “In the Shadow of Your Shadow,” is set for release on November 6, 2026, through their own label, Red Crk.

The album follows the outstanding “The Long Road North” from 2022, and pre-orders are already live for those eager to get their hands on the next chapter in the Swedish band’s journey.

According to vocalist and guitarist Johannes Persson, this new record ranks among the darkest and most emotionally intense works the band has ever created. Its lyrical themes revolve around loss, the burdens we carry from the past, and the internal battles we believe we’ve conquered, only to realize they’re still lurking somewhere in the shadows.

The album also features two remarkable guest appearances: Joe Duplantier of Gojira and David Eugene Edwards of Wovenhand / 16 Horsepower.

Alongside the announcement, the band unveiled the album’s title track, “In the Shadow of Your Shadow.” Clocking in at more than seven minutes, the song delivers everything fans love about Cult of Luna: crushing riffs, massive dynamics, and the haunting atmospheric passages that have become a signature part of their sound. An official visualizer for the track is already available on YouTube.
