The extreme metal band Murderess returns in full force with “Time to Kill: Volume II”, a direct continuation of their first release.
This new EP delves deeper into the fusion of death, doom, and black metal that defines the band, merging it with sharp, politically charged lyrics.
In doing so, it expands the core mission of Murderess: to give voice to memory, pain, and female resistance — whether rooted in real lives, mythical figures, or stories erased from official history.
Recorded once again at Orbis Studio (DF) and co-produced by the band and the studio, the EP delivers an even denser sound, packed with crushing riffs, visceral vocals, and ritualistic atmospheres that channel the ferocity of death metal, the dark introspection of doom, and the symbolic weight of black metal.
Each track acts as a chapter of denunciation and invocation. In “Lady Death”, the band pays tribute to Soviet sniper Lyudmila Pavlichenko, one of the deadliest fighters of World War II.
The track “Baba Yaga”, also featured on the EP cover, redefines the witch as a powerful and ambivalent force — a mythical figure defying the commodification of women’s bodies.
The provocative “No Father” targets patriarchal religiosity, confronting the historic abuse and silencing of women within dominant spiritual narratives.
Closing the EP, the instrumental track “Murderess II” connects directly with Volume I, continuing the band’s narrative through multilayered sonic textures that function as a soundtrack of collective memory, survival, and rage.
Formed in 2023 by Jazz Kaipora (guitar) and Claudia Franco (vocals), and now joined by Pedro Fraga (drums) and Clarissa Carvalho (bass), Murderess have already stood out as one of the most striking names in Brazil’s underground metal scene.
Known for their intense live performances and appearances alongside bands such as Crypta, Mystifier, Velho, and Vazio, the group distinguishes itself through a fierce sonic identity and a deeply conscious message — a collective outcry for memory, justice, and liberation.
