Finnish-Polish melancholic metal band DEPRESSURE releases the final single from their upcoming album

Finnish‑Polish melancholic rock/metal band DEPRESSURE have unveiled their final single, “Blocked Rays Of Sun”, from the forthcoming album “Worst Is Yet To Come”, which is scheduled for release in January 2026.

The band describe the track with poetic ambiguity:

“Like the Tower of Babel, the will to live rises from behind the wall of clouds. Darkness retreats, and the moment has come when the light finally prevails. Wet tension or progressive nonsense? It is what it is – heavy guitars and the melodic flow of timeless tunes. The moment is right, and the colors are at their brightest right now.”

True to their words, the single brims with heavy moods and aching emotions, shifting from melancholic yearning to modern heavy rock. It drills into the listener’s mind with relentless force, a sonic impact likened to a Makita 666.

DEPRESSURE’s story began in Joensuu, Finland, in 2006. After two demos and a handful of shows, the band fell silent for nearly a decade. In 2018, founder Antti Heikura resurrected the project, composing and recording the debut album September, which was released in February 2020.

A new chapter unfolded when Antti relocated to Poland, where a fresh line‑up emerged. Gigs in Gdańsk brought sweat and intensity, and by autumn 2024, recording sessions for the next album were underway. Now, with “Worst Is Yet To Come” set for release in January 2026, DEPRESSURE stand ready to freeze audiences with their northern brand of melancholic rock.
