Greek metalcore heavyweights ABOVE US THE WAVES (AUTW) return in full force with their brand-new EP “Counting Seasons”, out a couple of days ago on all major streaming platforms.
The title track “Counting Seasons” is now streaming online, delivering the band’s signature mix of soaring hooks and gut-punch riffs.
Blending the ferocity of Melodic Death Metal with the grit of hardcore, AUTW have been described as “a well-oiled machine producing high-quality modern metal”. Over the years, they’ve become one of Greece’s most respected underground exports, relentless on stage and uncompromising in sound.
Mixed and mastered by Kyle Black (PARAMORE, ALL TIME LOW, COMEBACK KID, PIERCE THE VEIL, VOLUMES), “Counting Seasons” captures the essence of the band: heavy, melodic, and emotionally charged. It’s a record that balances aggression and melody with precision, reaffirming AUTW’s place among the most exciting acts in the European metal scene.
Formed in Kavala, AUTW made their mark with “Anchors Aweigh” (2013, Spreading Dysphoria Industries) and “Rough on High Seas” (2018, GROWL / Rock of Angels Records), the latter produced by Jay Maas (DEFEATER, BANE, COUNTERPARTS, STATE CHAMPS). Their reputation as a powerhouse live band has taken them across Europe and to stages alongside BULLET FOR MY VALENTINE, LAMB OF GOD, UNEARTH, COMEBACK KID and ROTTING CHRIST, among many others.
With “Counting Seasons”, the band opens a new chapter, sharper, hungrier, and more dynamic than ever.
Following the release, AUTW will hit the road for a Balkan tour, bringing their trademark live intensity to fans across the region.
