GUS DRAX just released his new solo album, “Theories of Imperfection”

Theogonia Records proudly announces the release of “Theories of Imperfection”, the brand-new instrumental solo album from acclaimed Greek guitarist Gus Drax, out now on all platforms as of April 3rd, 2026.

With “Theories of Imperfection”, Gus Drax delivers his most ambitious and fully realized work to date: an eight-track journey through instrumental progressive metal that seamlessly blends technical mastery, melodic depth, and emotional intensity. Known for his work with Sunburst, Black Fate, and a decade as lead guitarist for thrash metal titans Suicidal Angels, Drax now steps firmly into the spotlight with a record that redefines his artistic identity.

From the philosophical opener “Sentio Ergo Sum” to the explosive “Sombrero Attack” and the atmospheric “Ethereal Horizon”, the album showcases a wide dynamic range, fusing blistering shred with cinematic textures and expressive storytelling. Drawing inspiration from legendary guitarists while forging a distinct voice of his own, Drax pushes the boundaries of modern instrumental metal.

“Theories of Imperfection” features an outstanding line-up of guest musicians, including George Kollias (drums), George Charalampidis (bass), and Bob Katsionis (keyboards), with additional contributions from John Koutselinis (orchestral arrangements), Lefteris Pouliou (saxophone), and a guest guitar solo by Andy James. Together, they bring depth and dimension to a release defined by world-class musicianship.

The album was mixed and mastered by acclaimed producer Simone Mularoni at Domination Studio, delivering a powerful and crystal-clear sonic experience. Visually, the album is complemented by striking artwork from Remedy Art Design, perfectly capturing the balance between chaos and beauty that defines the music.

Following a series of well-received singles and videos, “Theories of Imperfection” stands as a landmark release for Gus Drax, an album that will resonate deeply with progressive metal fans and guitar enthusiasts worldwide.

“Theories of Imperfection” is available now via Theogonia Records in physical and digital formats.
