The Greek Black Metallers IMPERIUM INFERNALIS are the newest addition to the Harmonia PR roster. The band is releasing today their one-track EP, “Mortality Salience,” with a duration of 18 minutes, through Schattenkult Produktionen.
IMPERIUM INFERNALIS are one of the best-kept secrets of the Greek Black Metal scene, hailing from Heraklion, Crete.
The band was founded by vocalist M.F. in 2003. During its first years, they released four demos – “The Dark Age Has Arrived” (2003), “The Abyss Has Opened” (2004), “A Dark Soul’s Reflection” (2005), and “Victims Of Subhumanity” (2008). After a one-year hiatus, they returned with an EP titled “The Antihuman Plague Spreads” in 2010.
In May 2013, French label Le Crépuscule du Soir Productions signed the band to release their debut album, titled “Choking On The Stench Of Mankind,” which introduced the band to a broader range of fans and to the media. Their first widespread acclaim came with their second album, “Imago Dei,” which was released in 2017 by the German record label Schattenkult Produktionen. The album received significant recognition, including being named “Album of the Month” by Greek Metal Hammer and being featured among the best weekly reviews of the magazine No Clean Singing.

Today, July 18th, 2025, the band strikes back with “Mortality Salience,” an 18-minute, one-track EP. The lyrical concept is an exploration of the awareness of one’s mortality, viewed through the lens of philosophical, psychological, and religious concepts and references. The EP was recorded in the band’s home studios, while the mixing and mastering were handled by the band’s drummer, Giorgos “Geegor” Anagnostopoulos, who has previously worked as a sound engineer with bands such as UNIVERSE217, OBSECRATION, AHERUSIA, among others, and has also served as a live sound engineer for bands like ABSINTHE GREEN, DODHEIMSGARD, ROTTING CHRIST, and more.
