The Norwegian collective KALANDRA unveils a captivating lyric video for “Hymna til Blåfjell” (Hymm to Blue Mountain). The song reimagines a deeply cherished hymn from the beloved Norwegian NRK Christmas TV series. 

Through KALANDRA’s mesmerising Nordic charms, the track becomes both a nostalgic hymn and an atmospheric ode to the timeless spirit of Blåfjell.

This song is our take on one of the most beloved songs from a classic Norwegian Christmas TV series. The original was composed by Geir Bøhren and Bent Åserud, with lyrics by Gudny Hagen.
Blåfjell – or “Blue Mountain” – is the mythical home of the Blånisser (blue elves). Every winter, there’s a moment between sunset and darkness that we in Norway call Blåtimen – the blue hour – when the snowy mountains glow in deep shades of blue.

Bringing this song to life felt like revisiting a piece of our own childhood. We wanted to capture that same sense of wonder and magic we felt watching the series and translate it into the world of Kalandra. We hope our fellow Norwegians will feel the nostalgia – and that listeners everywhere can sense a bit of that northern winter magic, even if they’ve never heard the original.”

The song is taken from the recently released EP “Mørketid”, which features four tracks in total, two of which are carefully reimagined covers, alongside two of their original compositions.
