With twenty albums under their belt, the “oldman” of thrash, Over kill, put us in their company, again with the new album “Scorched”.
Those who love them will be pleased. Those who hate them will continue to do so. But the other will tell you, “forty years play the same”.
So what; I will answer. Anyway, this is how they make their “bread” for so many years and with great success.
The question is, where do they find that energy and release a dynamite album, profuse that has nothing to envy either from the past or from the present of thrash.
When the first track starts and the first note from Dave Linsk’s guitar comes in that’s when the attack begins.
This time the onslaught lasts 51:05 minutes non-stop, showing no mercy until the last of the disc’s ten tracks is over.
Bobby “Blitz” Ellsworth is here to blow our minds, with a razor-sharp voice and Derek Tailer riffing non-stop.
The war lyrics of death and flattening show the way, in a collapsing society, always relevant.
The band is completely committed to the task at hand, without seeking glory or first place, writing music for their friends and anyone else, even now, who wants to follow the bandwagon that flattens them all.
The riffs, the solos scattered, the drums and the bass that escapes, without decorations is a modern thrash sound, with production that elevates them and gives the best Over kill effect.
