Germany’s THRON returns with their fifth studio album “Vurias”, which will be released on October 31st via Listenable Records. The band has dropped a lyric video for its new single, “The Hunter And The Prey”.
“The Hunter And The Prey” finds THRON venturing into uncharted sonic territory. Anchored in their signature Blackened Metal, the track bursts open with unexpected textures—haunting saxophone passages and the spectral glow of vintage 70s synthesizers. The result is a dark, cinematic journey that blurs the line between primal aggression and otherworldly atmosphere, marking one of the band’s boldest and most evocative statements to date.
Rooted in the essence of fury and transcendence, “Vurias” represents both a continuation and an evolution of the band’s uncompromising vision.
Alongside the title, THRON unveil the evocative cover artwork, created by master visual artist Daniele Valeriani, perfectly reflecting the darkness, intensity, and grandeur that defines their sound. With “Vurias”, the band pushes further into the depths of their sonic realm — weaving raw aggression with haunting atmosphere and melodic ferocity — while also incorporating new elements such as vintage ’70s synthesizers and saxophone.
