Szczecin, Poland; 19 February 2026: Hells Bells Festival has revealed the next major announcement, this time for fans of extreme metal. Leading the charge are the legendary Possessed, a band widely credited with birthing the death metal genre. Jeff Becerra and his crew will arrive in Szczecin to celebrate the 40th anniversary of their seminal debut, “Seven Churches”. Originally released in 1985, this record’s brutal take on thrash metal pushed every boundary imaginable, with its closing track “Death Metal” providing the blueprint for an entire global movement.
Joining them are the equally cult-status NunSlaughter. Formed in Pennsylvania at the tail end of the 80s, the quartet famously stood in opposition to the polishing of death metal, maintaining a raw, primitive, and uncompromising sound for nearly four decades. With a discography that is practically uncountable, NunSlaughter represents the wildest, most primal roots of extreme music.
Representing Poland in this week’s billing additions are The Materia and Pretensje. Hailing from Szczecinek, The Materia, are indisputably the masters of modern metal in Poland, blending groove, djent and progressive metal with world-class precision. The quartet has been consistently building its reputation for over 15 years and has performed countless concerts on the biggest stages in Poland and abroad.
Wrocław’s Pretensje deliver grunge at its finest. If Kurt Cobain suddenly woke up in Wrocław, he’d probably be in the band immediately. They’ve released two full-length albums, and less than a month ago, they released a new EP. They also have more followers on Instagram than on Facebook, proving that this Wrocław trio is the voice of the younger generation!
Hells Bells Festival will take place in the heart of Szczecin, Poland, on 26-27 June 2026. The venue is the scenic Plac Gryfitów on Łasztownia, a historic island district in Szczecin known for its iconic “Craneosaurs” (historic port cranes) and stunning views of the Oder River. The festival will deliver a mix of international legends, top domestic acts and younger new bands.
Early bird weekend tickets have sold out but general weekend tickets are still available via the official festival website. In addition to standard passes, the festival offers reduced rates for minors (ages 13-18) and special family tickets (for children under 13 with a guardian).
