Rock Hard Festival Greece 2026 edition

The Rock Hard Festival Greece 2025 was an incredible weekend in Athens!
The 2025 edition delivered a true Heavy Metal masterclass, proving that this new festival is now a very serious event that deserves to take place every year.

From the doom grandeur of legends Candlemass with Messiah Marcolin on vocals, to the power of HammerFall, every moment was pure magic.
Overkill brought their relentless thrash energy, tearing everything down in their path, while guitar virtuoso Gus G. & Friends delivered a stunningly precise performance. We experienced epic singalongs, circle pits, and a crowd united by the power of metal.

A huge thank you to all 12 bands, the crew, and every headbanger who made 2025 unforgettable. If you were there, you know how special it was. If you missed it, then you definitely missed the party of the year!

But if you did miss it, don’t worry — we are thrilled to announce that the 2nd edition of Rock Hard Festival Greece will take place in 2026, once again at Technopolis City of Athens, on September 11 and 12.

For the 2nd edition of the festival in Greece, we are already ready to announce the following 6 acts:

BLOOD FIRE DEATH – performing A Tribute to Quorthon and the Music of Bathory
Celebrating the visionary legacy of Quorthon, the pioneer of Black and Viking metal, this performance brings together an all-star lineup of the Norwegian Black Metal elite.
Originally conceived as a tribute to the late creator, the core lineup features Erik Danielsson (Watain), Ivar Bjørnson (Enslaved), Blasphemer (Vltimas, ex-Mayhem), Apollyon (Aura Noir) and Faust (Djevel, ex-Emperor).
This immersive lineup captures the spirit of Bathory’s legendary recordings, often described worldwide as “pure magic”. For this special Athens performance, the project will be joined by iconic guests such as Grutle Kjellson, Gaahl (ex-Gorgoroth), former Bathory bassist Frederick Melander and Attila Csihar.
This is a rare opportunity for the Greek audience to witness this historic tribute, where key figures of the genre honor the music that shaped their path. MORE GUESTS ARE EXPECTED TO BE ANNOUNCED!

Angra – performing Holy Land 30th feat. Kiko Loureiro
Rock Hard Festival Greece 2026 will host a truly historic event, as Brazilian power metal legends Angra return to celebrate 30 years of their masterpiece Holy Land. Performing the iconic 1996 album in full along with classic tracks from their career, the show will feature a rare reunion with guitarist Kiko Loureiro.
This performance is one of only two European dates dedicated to this landmark album, making it essential for fans across Europe and beyond. Known for blending technical metal with Brazilian rhythms and orchestral elements, Holy Land holds a special place in Greek metal history as well.
The lineup includes Rafael Bittencourt, Felipe Andreoli, Bruno Valverde, Marcelo Barbosa, and vocalist Alirio Netto. The show will also pay tribute to the late Andre Matos, whose voice defined the band’s early era. Expect a unique, once-in-a-lifetime experience.

Stratovarius – A travel through time with a special 90s set
Formed in Finland in 1984, Stratovarius are one of the leading bands of European melodic power metal. Under guitarist Timo Tolkki, the band reached its peak in the mid-90s with the classic lineup featuring Timo Kotipelto, Jens Johansson and Jörg Michael.
This “golden era” produced landmark albums such as Visions and Episode, combining neoclassical speed with symphonic elements and hits like “Black Diamond”.
The band’s connection with Greece is deep, with huge popularity in the late ’90s, also captured in the live album Visions of Europe, partly recorded in Athens. For this show, Stratovarius will perform a special set dedicated entirely to the ’90s.

DIRKSCHNEIDER – performing Special Best of Accept set
Rock Hard Festival Greece proudly welcomes Udo Dirkschneider and his band Dirkschneider for a rare performance dedicated to the legendary songs he recorded with Accept.
With a career spanning nearly five decades, Udo’s signature rough voice defined German metal on albums like Balls to the Wall and Restless and Wild. After leaving Accept in 1987, he found success with U.D.O., but this show focuses on the timeless anthems that started it all.
The lineup includes his son Sven on drums and legendary bassist Peter Baltes, strengthening the connection to the band’s golden era.

Primordial
Formed in Ireland in 1993, Primordial have built a unique identity in extreme metal. Blending black metal intensity with Celtic tradition and epic storytelling, they quickly transcended genre boundaries.
With core members Pól MacAmhlaigh and Ciarán MacUiliam and charismatic frontman Alan Averill, they became one of Ireland’s first internationally recognized black metal acts.
Albums like The Gathering Wilderness and To the Nameless Dead established their reputation, while their latest release How It Ends (2023) proves their vision remains as strong as ever.

Triumpher
Athens-based Triumpher have rapidly emerged as one of the most dynamic forces in modern epic heavy metal. Since the early 2020s, they have blended epic metal with black metal intensity and theatrical atmosphere.
Their debut Storming The Walls (2023) and Spirit Invictus (2024) established their sound, while their third album Piercing The Heart Of The World (2026) raises the bar even higher with cinematic orchestrations and commanding performances. Having already appeared at major festivals such as Keep It True and Up The Hammers, they prove their rise is no coincidence.

The remaining 4 bands completing the 10-band lineup for 2026 will be announced within the next two weeks.
