Just a few days after BLACK SABBATH’s historic last live, their legendary guitarist Tony Iommi has revealed that he is working on his first full-length solo album in many years.
In fact, as he stated in an interview with Sirius XM’s Trunk Nation, he had been working on this album for a while, but when the concert came up he had to put all his attention there. But now he’s moving on so that he can complete it. Initially, he had thought it would be an instrumental album but along the way he decided to use guest singers and there is even one already involved in the process. It remains to be decided if he will collaborate with many singers as he did in 2000 (David Grohl, Henry Rollins, Serj Tankian).
In the same interview, he revealed that he is working on the re-release of “Born Again”, BLACK SABBATH’s eleventh studio album which was originally released in 1983 and is considered a milestone as it is the only album that features DEEP PURPLE’s Ian Gillan on vocals and was also the last album by Geezer Butler and Bill Ward before their reunion in the 1990s.
Finally, as he mentioned, there are other plans for the future but they will have to be sequenced in his mind as ideas keep coming up.
