VERMINGOD announce their return with a new video clip: “The Fundamental Scorn” which premiered on June 27, 2025 on YouTube and all major streaming platforms. This is the band’s first release of new material in almost a decade – a relentless explosion of raw intensity and non-negotiable artistic expression.
Both visually and sonically, the piece is a cry of resistance against oppression and conformity. Founded in 2003 in Patras, VERMINGOD quickly rose to the hierarchy of the extreme metal scene. Their much-discussed 2015 release, “The Whisperer of the Abysmal Wisdom”, cemented their reputation and gave them appearances alongside top names in the field, such as Dying Fetus and Rotting Christ.With influences from bands such as Misery Index, Gojira and Morbid Angel, their new work captures the band in one of its most creative phases.
On the meaning of the video, the band comments: “The video is a visual embodiment of the silence we were forced to swallow; where truth is buried under sacred illusions, and obedience is confused with faith. It is not just art; it is an act of resistance against the structures that teach us to kneel.” The Fundamental Scorn, with its intensity and symbolic depth, paves the way for VERMINGOD’s long-awaited fourth full-length album, confirming once again their position as a powerful and authentic presence in the global death metal scene.
