On July 2nd, DREAM THEATER brought their 40th Anniversary summer tour to Anfiteatro Romano in Pompei, Italy. They kicked off their second set of the night with a cover of the PINK FLOYD classic, “Echoes”, and fan-filmed video of the performance can be viewed below.
Drummer Mike Portnoy shared the following message after the show: “Well, that was a night I’ll always cherish forever: DREAM THEATER Live At Pompeii!! That’s a sentence I never imagined I’d ever write! As I posted yesterday, this was a bucket list venue for me, and to have performed PINK FLOYD’s entire 25 minute ‘Echoes’ was the cherry on top! Truly a night to remember, and I have so much gratitude to still be reaching these kind of unachieved benchmarks at this stage in my career! Thank you all in attendance for sharing this magical evening with us…”
