Finnish metal icon Tarja Turunen has announced the release of her heaviest album to date, titled “Frisson Noir”, set to arrive on June 12th via earMUSIC. The upcoming record marks a return to heavier sounds after several years exploring different musical directions.

According to her label earMusic, “Frisson Noir” delivers the artist’s characteristic fusion of contemporary metal, classical music, and cinematic arrangements. The 10-track album will feature special guests such as Dani Filth ( Cradle of Filth ), Apocalyptica , Marko Hietala (ex- Nightwish ), and Chad Smith ( Red Hot Chili Peppers ). The album blends a modern and impactful sound with the dramatic and emotional elements that define Tarja’s unmistakable metal identity.

She has also just dropped the album’s first single, “At Sea”, a track running over 10 minutes that highlights the wide emotional and stylistic range of the record. The track combines Tarja’s voice with live musicians, orchestral arrangements, and choir performances recorded in Budapest with the Budapest Art Orchestra and Budapest Art Choir, conducted by Gyorgy Gulyas Nagy.
