ABSINTHE GREEN began as a personal project in 2016, led by songwriter and producer Eirini ‘Absinthe Green’ in Dortmund, Germany. After moving back to Greece in 2019, Absinthe was joined by drummer Harry Mason, bassist Villy Pirris, and later guitarist Panos Economakis, forming the full band lineup. Since then, they’ve been captivating audiences with their emotionally charged sound, fusing pop elements, aggressive guitars, groovy rhythms, and a versatile vocal range.
Genres blur and definitions falter when it comes to ABSINTHE GREEN. Whether you call them Alternative Metal, Hard Rock, or something else entirely, their music is a rich tapestry of influences and life experiences. A critic once described them as “a melodic storm of beauty and heartbreak, both ferocious and tender.” Soul-stirring vocals shift seamlessly between power and fragility, while skilful guitar work and infectious grooves underpin melodies that cut straight to the core.
ABSINTHE’s song-writing is raw and unflinching, revealing deep truths about love, pain, and redemption. Their lyrics explore life’s duality – where joy and sorrow, hope and despair coexist in an ever-shifting dance. The band’s debut album, “Of Love And Pain”, produced by renowned producer Hiili Hiilesmaa, will be released on 19th September (with a physical release on 10th October). It ventures into the contradictions of the human experience, where destruction and creation, light and darkness, merge in a symphony of emotional depth and power.

“At last, ‘Of Love And Pain’ is here. This album is a vessel for my experiences, woven from love, grief, defiance, and redemption. Yet it is not only born of sorrow; within its depths there is also humour, playfulness, and the strange joy of turning darkness into sound. I wanted to create something alive, an album I cherish performing on stage, where vulnerability and strength can coexist and where even pain carries its own peculiar beauty.
I am profoundly grateful to the amazing Hiili Hiilesmaa, who understood my vision and helped shape it into something timeless. My thanks extend to my extraordinary bandmates – Harry, Villy, and Panos – each of them a force unto themselves, who believed in me and my mad ideas and made them shine brighter. And to Geegor, our sound engineer and in truth the fifth member of this band, whose dedication and artistry gave this record its beating heart, I am endlessly thankful. And also to our wider team, whose faith, hard work, and spirit carried us through this journey and helped us bring this music fully into being.
What began in 2016 as a solitary project has grown into something far greater: a band, a family, a gathering of kindred spirits. Together we have forged a sound that resists simple definition – both fierce and fragile, shadowed and luminous, where heavy guitars entwine with haunting melodies and voice becomes confession.
‘Of Love And Pain’ is more than a debut; it is an invocation. It speaks to those who understand that joy and sorrow are inseparable, that creation rises from ruin, and that even in darkness, a spark of laughter can flicker like a candle in the night. This is our truth, and now it is yours.
With a lot of Love, and a considerable amount of Pain.”

” ‘Fiery Serpent’ is a toast to ruin, served neat, with a side of self-inflicted calamity. Even when light breaks through, there’s a temptation to trip over one’s own shadow, to flirt with the fire that follows everywhere. It’s the ouroboros of the soul, biting its tail and slyly whispering that breaking free is optional… and probably impossible. For anyone who knows the thrill of their own undoing, this song feels like home.” – ABSINTHE GREEN
