One of the Legendary Bands of the NWOBHM Returns to Greece for Two Exclusive Shows
Tygers of Pan Tang, one of the most important and influential bands of the New Wave of British Heavy Metal, are returning to Greece for two shows in February 2027.
On Friday, February 26, Tygers of Pan Tang will perform at Piraeus Academy in Athens, in a concert that will combine the classic songs that defined their sound with material from their new musical era. Joining them will be Greece’s own Tidal Dreams.

One day later, on February 27, the band will take the stage at the Horns Up Festival in Trikala, making it two Tygers of Pan Tang appearances in Greece within just two days.
With a history dating back to the late 1970s and classic albums such as Wild Cat, Spellbound, and The Cage, Tygers of Pan Tang became a key part of the movement that changed British heavy metal forever. Their ranks also included John Sykes, who would later become closely associated with Thin Lizzy and Whitesnake.
Today, with founding member and guitarist Robb Weir at the helm, Tygers continue to write and release new music, keeping the spirit of NWOBHM alive without simply relying on nostalgia.
Their new era is marked by “Electrifyed,” their brand-new studio album, released on September 11, 2026. The album embraces a heavier and more aggressive sound, packed with powerful riffs and intense guitar energy, while retaining the melodies that have always been a defining characteristic of the Tygers.
Electrifyed also marks the recording debut of new guitarist John Footitt, alongside Robb Weir, Jack Meille, Craig Ellis, and Huw Holding. Production was handled by Marco Angioni.
