And there you are, sitting relaxed at your computer, opening yet another promo from yet another band you’ve never heard of, when the debut album from Spanish band STAINLESS MADNESS, entitled “Disciples”, hits you like a bolt of lightning and gets you thinking about how many gems are lost in the abundance of music information out there.

STAINLESS MADNESS was formed in Madrid in 2022, and its music is difficult to categorize clearly. With “Freedom’s Grave” or “Ashes of Silence,” you think you’re listening to yet another very good death metal album with thunderous drums. But then comes “Against My Will” with its fast-paced, angry thrash, and you start to have your doubts. Of course, it was preceded by “Into Oblivion” with its melodic, guitar-driven intro, heavy metal aesthetic, and amazing clean vocals that make you wonder how many different faces STAINLESS MADNESS has. Another highlight is “Normative Corruption,” where the balance between guitar and drums is the best on the album.

The downside of “Disciples” is that it hasn’t decided what it wants to be when it grows up, to put it bluntly. But we’re talking about a debut album from a new band, so it would be strange if they guys had already settled on the sound they want to play. Especially when we’re talking about a band that seems to have experimentation in its DNA, which can only be good for their future.
