Greek band WINTER ETERNAL, now based in Scotland, return with their fifth album, entitled “Unveiled Nightsky,” to spread their darkness through their heavy and emotionally charged melodies.

Following in the footsteps of the great classics of the genre such as DISSECTION, they incorporate various additional elements into their musical palette, such as the folk of SAOR or the atmospheric BLACKBRAID, creating an album that stands out among the plethora of similar releases of this genre.

“Unveiled Nightsky” consists of 8 songs. The listener is immediately drawn into the thich darkness of night with “Born of Winter’s Breath,” and it quickly becomes apparent that this is an album based on atmosphere, exceptional guitar riffs (“The Deceiver’s Tale”), relentless drumming (“Unveiled Nightsky”) and epic nature (“Omen Of The Cosmic Order”). The vocals of Soulreaper, who is also the soul of the band, are there not to steal the show but to reinforce the feeling left by the lengthy instrumental parts. The album’s themes follow in the footsteps of previous albums with myths and legends from around the world, but now WINTER ETERNAL also deals with themes of cosmic balance, planets, and stars Another thing worth mentioning is the significant improvement in the album’s production compared to at least the previous one, “Echoes Of Primordial Gnosis,” as the sound is clearer and the various instruments are highlighted as they should be. The final touch is, of course, the instrumental “Drifting Into The Depths Of Oblivion,” dominated by classical guitar and violin.

“Unveiled Nightsky” is a contemporary melodic black metal album that is sure to stand out in 2026. WINTER ETERNAL manages to leave their mark and capture their musical ideas despite the fact that the album is only 30 minutes long.
