BLACK SABBATH’s “Back To The Beginning” is the highest grossing charity concert ever surpassing Live Aid

The final Ozzy Osbourne and BLACK SABBATH show was a monumental event, not just for the performance itself, but for what it represented — a symbolic end to one of rock’s most storied legacies and apparently a powerful gesture of philanthropy. Held on July 5 at Villa Park in Birmingham, England, Back to the Beginning served as a full-circle tribute to Ozzy Osbourne and BLACK SABBATH, who famously began their journey in Birmingham over five decades ago.

More than a week later, it is confirmed that the concert raised over $190 million, making it the highest-grossing charity concert of all time. The staggering proceeds will be distributed among three major beneficiaries: Birmingham Children’s Hospital, Acorn Children’s Hospice, and Cure Parkinson’s — the last being especially close to Ozzy’s heart following his Parkinson’s diagnosis in 2019.

This record-setting achievement places Back to the Beginning atop an elite list of benefit concerts, surpassing iconic events like Live Aid (1985), FireAid (2025), and Hope for Haiti Now (2010). For comparison:

  • Back to the Beginning (2025): $190 million
  • FireAid (2025): Over $100 million
  • Live Aid (1985): Approximately $100 million
  • Farm Aid (since 1985): Over $80 million
  • Hope For Haiti (2010): $57 million

This historic concerts was a testament of the importance and impact of Ozzy and BLACK SABBATH in music globally and honored the past of the band leaving an important legacy that will be remembered by the future generations.
