Death Metal band THE OMEN MACHINE release new music video “Delay, Deny, Defend”

Death metal band THE OMEN MACHINE release new music video and single “Delay, Deny, Defend”, a scathing indictment of the US health insurance industry and visual satire of how insurance companies pull strings to make profit more important than patient health. The song’s title is taken from a book about how insurance companies operate, through delaying decisions, denying claims, and defending their actions.

THE OMEN MACHINE was formed by guitarist/bassist/songwriter Colin Busse. Colin set out to form this unique project with the goal of combining his musical influences with his personal and intellectual interest in financial crime. Their debut EP, ‘Criminals’ was released on February 7th of 2025. After the murder of United Healthcare CEO Brian Thompson last year, Busse felt compelled to write about the negligence of health insurance companies, through the perspective of a CEO who denies claims as a way of making more money.

The “Delay, Deny, Defend” video features Busse himself as a ringerleader in the conference room, explaining to his subordinates how they will pull money from their customers. Other scenes show doctors eschewing treatment and pushing pills, forever trapping patients in a vicious cycle between being sick and endless medical costs. THE OMEN MACHINE delivers this stark message through their visceral and technical blend of death metal reflecting the industry’s own brutal perspective of wringing every last drop from people, leaving them broke and broken.
