Deviser Exilium Noctis & Ascending Olympus Live Metal Union 2025

DEVISER / Exilium Noctis / Ascending Olympus live at Metal Union, Agrinion, Greece 15/03/2025

The heavy metal community of Agrinio in Greece has a very important fire, the Metal Union.

This club has proven for years now that heavy metal is not just a genre for them, but their true passion, beyond any financial benefit. So, just like last year around this time when the first black-metal live show with Synteleia and Penthos took place, this year another death/black-metal night was organized in the best possible way, ensuring both the audience and the bands had a great time.

From early on, people from Agrinio, as well as metal fans from other cities, gathered to enjoy a promising night, mainly thanks to the strong lineup.

With a slight delay, around 21:00, the first band to take the stage was the renewed Ascending Olympus — renewed due to their new members. They delivered modern death metal while still honoring classic old-school influences. Their setlist consisted of tracks from their debut and so-far only album, Frontlines, along with a cover of Asphyx’s “Death Hammer.” Not only did the crowd warm up immediately, but they also showed once again why they are considered some of the most passionate metal fans in the region.

Despite this being their first live performance with the new lineup, the band appeared tight and well-rehearsed, with excellent sound. Combined with the enthusiasm of the audience, they delivered a performance that will surely remain unforgettable for both the band and the crowd.

Ascending Olympus setlist:
Gods Are Watching (intro).
As the Ground Trembles.
Off to Different Shores.
Hell Is in My Eyes.
A Call to Arms.
The City Will Not Fall.
Frontlines.
Death Hammer (Asphyx cover).
Death Will Come from Above.

Second to take the stage were the beloved and fast-paced Exilium Noctis. The black-metallers from Volos create chaos wherever they appear, delivering their dynamic and dark tracks with passion and intensity. Once again, they proved why they are considered one of the most promising bands in the Greek scene, with a bright future ahead of them.

The crowd in Agrinio surrendered to the ferocity of Exilium Noctis, carried away by the band’s momentum and unleashing all their energy. Their set was excellent, maintaining high intensity from start to finish and leaving everyone deeply satisfied.

We have said it many times before: Exilium Noctis is a band that will keep us talking in the years to come — and they prove it at every opportunity.

Exilium Noctis setlist:
ADVENTOS TENEBRARUM
ALL SHALL BURN
THE COMING OF ABADDON
DEVIL’S MARCH
CRUCIFY THE RATS OF CHURCH

And then came the moment for the headliners of the night — the legendary Deviser.

Deviser, who have made a full-scale restart of their career over the past two years, decided to embark on a mini-tour across Greece — and their first stop was none other than Metal Union.

The crowd had been eagerly anticipating their return to Agrinio after many years, thirsty to hear both the band’s classic material and the newer tracks from their two-year-old album “Evil Summons Evil.” As the intro rolled and the audience chanted the band’s name rhythmically, the atmosphere grew electric, calling Deviser to give everything onstage.

“Of Magic” opened the set, marking the beginning of a journey only Deviser can deliver. The epic “Death Is Life Eternal” followed, and by that point the temperature inside Metal Union had already risen dramatically. With each track executed excellently and the crowd responding with fiery enthusiasm, the band closed their set with the beloved classic “Threnody.”

Once again, Deviser proved why — even after pauses in their career — they remain one of the most important and respected Greek black metal bands. Their presence, conviction, and timeless aura left no doubt: the flame still burns strong.

Once again, Metal Union proved its strength and reminded everyone that the regions have a true metal spirit – vibrant, passionate, and alive!
Most importantly, both the audience and the bands left the venue fully satisfied, energized, and grateful for such a powerful night.
