Olli Kuure (Composition, arrangement) mentioned:
This time we burrow in deep Finnish melancholy. We’ve got some beautiful nature here, so we thought why not use it in the music video. The growing autumnal darkness was made for this video. The song comes together from parts delving deeper into Finnish melancholy and national psyche. Right from the start we had a vision for Jukka Laaksonen from Restriction Line and Kaukaisuus to take up the lead vocals. You can hear and feel the pain from Jukka’s vocals, leading into the song’s theme.
Jukka Laaksonen, guest vocalist, added:
The guys suggested I should come and record some vocal for their next single. After a short consideration I decided to jump in and it ultimately came out really great.”
Otso Turunen (Lyrics, arrangement) said
When I first heard the mid-tempo, gloomy progression of the song I immediately thought of traditional 2000s Finnish metal in the vein of Kotiteollisuus and Timo Rautiainen. I started writing the lyrics from a patriotic point of view, but ended up also including some criticism. Finnish sisu (perseverance) is a great thing, but a stubborn nature also leads to repeating past mistakes and unnecessary idolization of suffering. Even though the topic is serious the music video has some humor, so it shouldn’t get all that preachy.
