Swedish titans KATATONIA have released a cover of the 1981 KISS track, “A World Without Heroes“. According to KATATONIA frontman Jonas Renkse, this rendition was as part of the sessions for their latest album “Nightmares As Extensions Of The Waking State“, which arrived this past June.
“A final single from the Nightmares… session, a cover of Kiss’ ‘A World Without Heroes’ which is one of the songs we usually listen to in the dressing room before going on stage,” said KATATONIA’s Jonas Renkse.
“For us, it now also serves as a memory of Ace Frehley’s legacy. Nico’s rendition of his solo is nothing short of amazing! Also, this release includes Karin Park’s outstanding remix of ‘Wind of No Change’. Enjoy, and come see us in Europe this fall/winter!”
KATATONIA is set to tour North America in 2026. The first headline show will take place on February 9, 2026 in Pittsburgh, PA. Several more major North American cities such as San Francisco, CA, Los Angeles, CA, Montreal, QC and Brooklyn, NY will host KATATONIA headline dates after the tour with OPETH. Get your tickets here.
