MAYHEM have announced their seventh studio album, “Liturgy of Death”, out February 6th. The lead single “Weep for Nothing” is also out.

The seven-minute track is a smothering piece that shifts between atmospheric blasting, slower doomy sections, and even a bit of prog toward the song’s latter half. Prolific vocalist Attila Csihar exercises both harsh rasps and operatic clean vocals, keeping with the variation in the arrangement.

For this album, MAYHEM’s lineup remains consistent with that of their 2019 LP “Daemon” and features Csihar, longtime members Necrobutcher (bass) and Hellhammer (drums), and guitarists Ghul and Morten (aka Teloch).
