Symfobia is a Symphonic Metal band from Slovakia, formed in 2015. Their discography already includes two impressive full-length albums, Way of the Queen (2015) and The Smog of Tomorrow (2019). Their latest single, “Liar” (2025), serves as a powerful foretaste of the highly anticipated new album the band is currently working on.
With this interview, we dive deeper into the world of Symfobia and discuss their upcoming performance at the “Ladies of Metal” festival this April in Greece.
METALWAR: To start, could you make a brief introduction of the band for the followers of our webzine?
Symfobia: We are a symphonic metal band from Slovakia that loves to combine heavy riffs with cinematic orchestrations and strong vocal melodies. Since our formation in 2015, we have released two albums and we are currently in the process of creating our third one. Our music is a journey through different emotions and stories, and we can’t wait to share that energy with new audiences.
METALWAR: What comes to your mind when you hear the title “Ladies of Metal” festival?
Symfobia: When we hear “Ladies of Metal,” we think of a celebration of the beautiful connection between power and gentleness that women possess. We are very happy that there is a festival that appreciates this dynamic. We also think of all the talented metal bands we’re going to share the stage with and the collective energy of the female-fronted scene.
METALWAR: In your opinion, is a festival like this important for female-fronted bands?
Symfobia: Yes! We think it’s very important, especially since metal is traditionally a more male-dominated genre. It’s a great and inspiring way to show “woman power” to the world and provide a platform where these voices can be the main focus.
METALWAR: What does it mean to you to be part of this festival?
Symfobia: Being a part of “Ladies of Metal” means a lot to us. It’s an honor to play in Greece for the first time, and to do so at such a prestigious festival is even better. We are proud to share our music in a country we have never visited before and we’re truly grateful to be included in this lineup.
METALWAR: Have you shared the stage with any of the other bands on the festival bill in the past?
Symfobia: Not yet, but we’re really looking forward to the opportunity! We’re excited to meet these bands and hopefully, this performance can be the beginning of some future collaborations as well.
METALWAR: This will be your first time performing for the Greek metal fans. What are your expectations?
Symfobia: Yes, this will be our first time performing in Greece, and we couldn’t be more excited! We’ve heard so many great things about the Greek audience and the incredible energy they bring to live shows. We expect a night full of passion and loud metal!
METALWAR: Have you prepared any surprises for your Greek show?
Symfobia: Definitely! We don’t want to give everything away just yet, but we’ve been working on some new material and the “Ladies of Metal” audience will be the first to hear it live! We want this show to feel unique and memorable, both for us and for the fans.
METALWAR: If you could say something directly to the Greek audience, what would that be?
Symfobia: We just want to say we’re stoked and grateful to finally be coming to Greece to perform for you all!
“We can’t wait to see you! See you at the festival!”
