Release Athens 2026 welcomes two more metal bands to Plateia Nerou. On Sunday, June 28, OVERGROWN, the rising British nu-metal/grunge act, will join THREE DAYS GRACE and BLACK VEIL BRIDES, while on Tuesday, June 30, SYLOSIS, the band led by the acclaimed Josh Middleton, are added to the historic night featuring MEGADETH and SEPULTURA.
OVERGROWN are one of the freshest names in the new British heavy scene, already beginning to attract attention with singles such as “Pieces” and “Breathe.” Combining heavy guitars, melodic choruses, and a strong aesthetic reminiscent of 2000s nu-metal and alternative rock, the quartet has quickly built a reputation as a highly energetic live act. Following a steady run of live appearances and tours over the past months, OVERGROWN are now preparing for the first major festival performances of their career, including their appearance at Release Athens 2026.

SYLOSIS have long been regarded as one of the leading forces in modern British metal. Led by Josh Middleton — also known for his time with ARCHITECTS between 2018 and 2023 — the band has crafted a distinctive sound that blends thrash, melodic death metal, and progressive elements through albums such as “Conclusion Of An Age,” “Edge Of The Earth,” “Monolith,” and “Cycle Of Suffering.”
This year, they returned with their new album, “The New Flesh,” a record born from the momentum of their relentless live performances over the past few years, perfectly capturing the band’s most aggressive and direct side. This summer, SYLOSIS embark on the biggest and most ambitious tour of their career so far, ready to take the next step on the global metal stage.
