The story of THE LIGHT SUPERIOR began in Amarillo, Texas in 2018 where the band quickly built a reputation as an incendiary live unit, appearing alongside established names like We Came As Romans, Of Mice & Men and The Browning during the very early days of their career. The band quickly drew the attention of Rottweiler Records and unleashed their fiery first EP, “I AM”, through the label in 2022. The outstanding single, ‘Tidal Wave’, followed in 2024 and then, after some vital line-up changes, two more brilliant singles landed in 2025 – ‘Dark Moon’ and the special Halloween release, ‘Ghost’. These singles have all stoked the fires of anticipation for a full-length debut album from The Light Superior – each one of them delivering masterful metalcore at the absolute peak of the genre’s power and potential. And now, at long last, the waiting is over and The Light Superior are primed and ready to unveil “Dayspring “– an album that fulfils every hope and expectation in breathtaking fashion!

Opening track, ‘Genesis’, begins as a slow immersion in atmosphere and a gradual gathering of power. There is time to prepare yourself, take one, last deep breath and then the full formidable weight of The Light Superior descends…huge riffs, colossal drumbeats and soul shaking vocals…you are here. This is happening. And it’s glorious! ‘Ghost’ and ‘Dark Moon’ are both present, given the platform they deserve and they both combine earthshaking force and captivating, emotive melody to spectacular effect – if anything sounding even stronger with the passage of time. New single and title track ‘Dayspring’ features some fabulous guest lead guitar work from producer Glenn Gizzi, while ‘Solid Ground’ hits you straight in the heart; stunning in its emotional impact and sheer overwhelming heaviness. ‘Revelation’ is an invitation to the pit with some outstanding drumming, a last full-blooded roar before The Light Superior step back from the distortion pedals and finish the album with something really special. ‘Dark Moon Reimagined (feat. Drive Thru Society)’ holds the listener rapt, its grip unbreakable.
