ARBRE-DIEU is a musical project created by Adz (THY APOCALYPSE, REFLECTING THE LIGHT etc) in 2022 but essentially took shape only a few days time ago with the release of the first EP titled “Nuit Noire”.

Adz’s goal was to create a project that would offer a primitive and raw sound. However, in “Nuit Noire”, ARBRE-DIEU take it a step further since the four songs of the EP have been integrated with a few but distinct elements that stand out. Such as for example the four-minute orchestral introduction to “Graines de la folie” which creates a suffocating atmosphere using even elements of electronic music to gradually climax. This four-minute piece separates this particular song from the other three which are 3-4 minutes long and clearly have a more to the point approach. Listening to “Tourbillon Chaotique” I imagined myself locked in an abandoned psychiatric hospital and trying to hide from a crazy killer who is looking for me. Raw, chaotic, claustrophobic. In “La Vieille Femme et le Soleil pale” the guitars stand out, breaking the darkness without taking anything away from the atmosphere that has already been created. Finally, “Mort Et Renaissance” gives vital space to the drums but mainly the bass to take action for the “heaviest” song of the EP that ideally closes the story.

“Nuit Noire” is a first, identifying step by ARBRE-DIEU into the dark world of Black Metal that nevertheless made their point straightforward. Raw but atmospheric, simple but with subtle touches. An EP that deserves to be heard by Black Metal lovers.
