ENODIA, the personal black metal project of Christina Paftinou (ex-Medusa’s Wrath), have released their first single titled “Serpent’s Wisdom”. The track will be included in the upcoming debut EP, “Prothyraia”, which is set for release in the near future.
The name of the project is inspired by the ancient Thessalian Greek goddess Enodia, who is connected by some writers with Hecate and is considered, among other things, the goddess of purification and cleansing rites from miasma (stemming from murder, birth, death, and more).
Through this new endeavor, Christina Paftinou aims to follow in the footsteps of the great pioneering Greek black metal bands of the 1990s, such as Rotting Christ, Necromantia, and Septicflesh, honoring her musical roots.
The music and lyrics for “Serpent’s Wisdom” were written by Christina Paftinou, who also performs guitar and bass on the track. Vocals are performed by Kostas ‘Corax’ Katoikos, while recording, mixing, and mastering were handled by Sakis Axiotis.
Finally, the video animation was created by Elena Vasilaki.
