Athens, Greece – Athenian heavy metal force Medusa’s Wrath have released “Breaking the Spell,” a blistering new single and lyric video that serves as the first salvo from their highly anticipated sophomore album, The Seventh Plague of Babylon, set for release on June 5, 2026.

Driven by loud “punch and grind” guitars, a tight emphatic rhythm section, and vigorous vocals, “Breaking the Spell” is a defiant anthem of liberation and rebirth. The track channels the raw fury and melodic power that fans of Judas Priest, Riot, Demon, Angel Witch, and the NWOBHM movement have come to crave.

Conceptually, The Seventh Plague of Babylon follows Medusa as she traverses the ancient world, reaching Babylon for vengeance. “Breaking the Spell” captures the moment of breaking free from oppression — rising from the ashes with unstoppable force.

The new album features a refreshed lineup and was mixed by Naberius (Yoth Iria, Karma Violens) and mastered by Epaminondas Oikonomou (Kawir, Karma Violens). The record also features a special lyrical contribution from Jim Mutilator (Yoth Iria, ex-Rotting Christ) on one track.

Founded in Athens in 2019 by Petros Kalivas and Kristina Paftinou, Medusa’s Wrath have steadily built their reputation through their 2021 EP Lifeless Void and their 2024 debut full-length Pavor Exitium Mors. With a proven track record of powerful live performances across Greece — both as headliners and support — the band are poised to take their heaviest step yet.
