The announcement everyone had been waiting for has finally been made by the Release Athens Festival, which, after 10 years at Plateia Nerou, is moving to the Olympic Properties site in Markopoulo, Attica (Markopoulo Complex).
At the same time, the first band for 2027 was announced, with THE NEIGHBOURHOOD set to visit Greece on June 25. With billions of streams, huge hits such as “Sweater Weather”, and appearances at some of the biggest festivals in the world, the Californian band will be performing in Greece for the first time!
According to the festival’s official announcement, the Markopoulo Complex, located at the Olympic Properties site in Markopoulo, Attica, is a new destination for major concerts, festivals and events, offering the space and flexibility to accommodate productions of different scales and formats. From now on, Release Athens will have two stages at the new venue, making room for more artists and more music, for an upgraded festival experience.
The venue also features a very large parking area, with capacity for several thousand vehicles, while access via Attiki Odos and the nearby Koropi Metro station, from and to which shuttle buses will operate, will make it easier to reach the venue from different parts of Athens.
More names will be announced soon!
Tickets go on sale Thursday, October 1, at 12:00.
