Black metallers ANGEST announce “Perpetual Anguish” via Vendetta Records

Built around themes of fear, emotional collapse and psychological paralysis, the album explores different forms of inner deterioration across five extended tracks. “Perpetual Anguish” leans heavily into atmosphere, tension and suffocating emotional weight, following the slow erosion of identity, certainty and the ability to function within everyday life.

Across the album, fear becomes a constant presence, appearing through uncertainty, isolation, numbness and the sensation of gradually disappearing beneath one’s own thoughts.

ANGEST also brings together musicians connected to a wide range of respected underground acts, with three members coming from the remains of the multinational band Lebenssucht. The line-up also carries connections to Cult of Erinyes, Détresse, LVTHN, Humanitas Error Est, Goat Torment, (ex-)Enthroned, Gevurah and Towering.

Mixed by Patrick Stoiber and mastered by Christian Höll, the album keeps a raw and oppressive edge while allowing the layered arrangements and melodic details to remain fully present throughout the record.
