SÖNUS unleash new album “Planes of Torment”

SÖNUS have officially released their long-awaited new full-length album, “Planes of Torment”, delivering a hard-hitting, psychedelic-tinged odyssey through the darker and heavier edges of rock and metal. Following the critically praised 2022 release Usurper of the Universe, the band returns with their most ambitious and emotionally charged record to date.

Forged through personal upheaval and relentless creative drive, “Planes of Torment” stands as a testament to resilience, grit, and the healing power of loud, unapologetic rock and roll. Multi-instrumentalist and creative force David Wachsman leads the charge on vocals and guitar, backed by a powerhouse lineup featuring Dave Reno on bass, Colin Drake Jaramillo on drums, Mike Gorman on rhythm guitar, and special guest Will Harper on flute for the epic track “Scorpio.”

Recorded live in the studio by Adam Reed at Reed’s Recordings in Campbell, California, the album captures SÖNUS in their rawest and most ferocious form. The record was mixed by Dave Reno at Fuzzy Wizard Studios and mastered by Matt “Mojo” Denton at Ragged Birds Music, giving Planes of Torment its massive, unfiltered sonic punch.

From crushing heavy riffs to trippy, progressive passages, “Planes of Torment” takes listeners on a journey through madness, heartbreak, catharsis, and triumph. This is a record built for late-night drives, sweaty club shows, and anyone who still believes rock music should hit you in the chest.
